Lineage

It’s the 80th birthday of Holly Koenig, founder and CEO of Polaris, the world’s largest multimedia conglomerate. Koenig’s health has been declining, and she has gathered her family and colleagues to both celebrate the occasion of her birth, and to announce her plans to step down and name a new successor.

Everyone is terrible, and everybody wants something.

Lineage is a parlor larp written for a friend's surprise birthday party, inspired by the HBO show Succession. In the game, a dozen or so players take the parts of thinly veiled characters for the show, scheming and wheedling to achieve their goals and position themselves before the CEO makes her final announcement. 

Lineage plays in an hour, uses a regular deck of playing cards, requires no previous knowledge of the show or characters, and is a guaranteed hell of a time. I wrote this as a present, so it's free! (But tips are always welcome.)
