Shadow and Spark

The Creature awoke, a child of mortified flesh and occult science. Scared. Alone. Angry. Bound to darkness by its demented creator, it was torn from the foetid hospital basement nursery by the Murderer and the Wolf. Guided by a fallen Blackcloak and the half-living Hunter who saved the dark protector from his own men, they take flight from this shadowed city, fleeing both from those who would see them slaughtered, and their own dark natures.

In an East End Warehouse beside the dried Thames, filled with steam pipes and colossal rats, the fugitives hold Levi Coleman—a Blackcloak and once trusted ally of Virgil Deason. Promising to meet them with maps and supplies, he instead brought the attention of Bright Patrol—the Blackcloak unit sent to execute Deason after he refused to put his wolfen lover to death. Coleman sits now on the ruined warehouse floor, chained to a hot, dripping steam-pipe, his arc-rifle and silver blade safely out of reach. But the heavy boots of the Cloaks thunder just outside, ready to bring these creatures to justice.

Will they defeat the Blackcloaks, or find a way to retreat into the tunnels beneath the city? What monstrosities lie between them and freedom? Will bringing peace to this pitiable creature lead any of them to salvation? What waits for them beyond the Wall? What separates man from the creatures that hunt him? Is anyone beyond Corruption?

Shadow and Spark is a tabletop role-playing game in which you play denizens of a London Under Shadow, struggling to fulfil their needs and desires while resisting the darker urges of their Corruptions. Inspired by Lady Blackbird and Don't Rest Your Head, Shadow and Spark is suitable for up to five players who would like to explore the darker side of themselves in a one-shot or short campaign.
